What the clearest statements have in common
- They name the moment. 26 of the 51 say when the disclosure happens: every time AI is used, when it materially shapes a deliverable, or before it is used at all. 5 promise openness without saying when, which reads well and is hard for a client to hold anyone to.
- They say where the client reads it. 9 name a place: proposals and scopes of work, monthly reports, a contract addendum, or the published content itself.
- They pair disclosure with review. 49 of the 51 also promise a person reviews AI-assisted work before the client sees it, so the disclosure arrives with the reason to trust the work.
- They let the client say no. 23 also let a client limit or exclude AI on their work, or follow the client's own AI rules. Elm Marketing ties opting out to the cost of the work.
Write your own statement
The AI terms generator turns where your agency uses AI into a client AI statement and contract clauses you can use as your own. For contract wording, see AI contract clause examples.
See what your site tells clients
The AI disclosure checker reads your homepage, legal pages and policy addresses the way a client would and quotes what it finds. Labeling content for the audience is a separate duty: see the AI disclosure requirements by platform and law.

Questions agencies ask
What is an AI disclosure statement?
A short statement telling clients how AI was used in the work. For an agency it usually sits in the published AI policy, the contract or the deliverable itself, and it settles three things: when AI use is disclosed, where the client reads it, and what review the work gets before it reaches them.
Should the statement cover every use of AI, or only when AI shapes the work?
Both are common among the agencies here: 15 say they tell clients whenever AI is used and 7 only when AI materially shapes a deliverable. "Every use" is simpler to read but has to hold on every deliverable, transcription and spell-check included; "materially shapes" spares the routine uses but needs a threshold a client can understand, such as AI-generated imagery or conclusions an AI reached.
Where should an agency put its AI disclosure?
9 of the 51 statements name a place: in its sub-processor disclosure; in a statement on its website or in client contracts; in an AI addendum to the client contract; alongside the AI-generated content. A statement that names a place is one a client can check.
Can I copy these statements?
The words belong to each agency and are quoted to show how it tells its clients; read them for the choices they make and write your own. The free AI terms generator writes a client AI statement from where your agency actually uses AI, free to use.
Every statement is quoted from the agency's own published AI policy, read in full October 25 to 30, 2026 (list formatting flattened). Which group a statement is in, and the “Where” notes, are our reading of it; they are the disclosure_when column of the library CSV, free to reuse under CC BY 4.0 with a link to this page. The quoted words belong to each agency. Policies change: each statement links to the original and to its page in the agency AI policy library.
